NQT Development Programme 2018/19 Launch!

Greenwood Learning Alliance were delighted to welcome the new cohort of GAT NQT's to their Development Programme Launch on the 20th of September.

Greenwood Learning Alliance's NQT development programme has launched for the 77 NQT's across the Trust! Thursday the 20th of September saw the new cohort gather with the Central Education team and Directors from the Trust in Peterborough to be introduced to the CPD programme that will support them throughout this very busy year.

NQT's were welcomed by Education Directors Emma Hadley and Tom Campbell and enjoyed a presentation by expert practitioners from Nottingham Academy Penny Theodosiou and Katharine Barker on how to gain respect from their new classes. Trust Safeguarding Director Wayne Oldfield presented on the pitfalls and peril of social media, keeping yourself safe and understanding your responsibilities, and Senior HR Director Sarah Meader introduced NQT's to the role of HR and the importance of Wellbeing.

After plenty of networking opportunities where local Academy colleagues formed their own social media networks through which to share best practice and communicate together throughout the year, the NQT's experienced an afternoon session with the Primary Senior Education Advisers; Clare Willerton, Charlotte Krzanicki, Emma Nuttall and Darren Price, covering a virtual tour of the fantastic new Learning Alliance website and booking portal, a taster as to what to expect on their regional training hub days, a session on what to expect from their NQT Mentor and what to expect when it comes to Ofsted.
Danesholme Junior Academy's Jos Austin finished the day with a review of his NQT year last year;  The pitfalls; the successes, the pains, the joy!

The Learning Alliance team are greatly looking forward to working in the regions with this fantastic group of new teachers during the coming months.
