Qualifications and Awards
SEND Casework Award
Designed specifically for those directly involved in SEND casework and casework management. It is a way of developing and enhancing staff practice in implementing the SEND Code of Practice (2015) requirements
- Four one-day workshops over the course of the year when key knowledge and skills will be covered and assessed;
- Technical and legal aspects of SEND assessment;
- Review and coordination process, with particular reference to the Code of Practice (2015);
- Interpersonal, communication, and self-management skills required by staff for effective and excellent professional practice
Most candidates take between 9 and 12 months to complete the award, with the majority of the programme being completed through daily working practices

Training Events and Conferences
Free Mental Health Training from Place2Be
This online children’s mental health training course developed from Place2Be's work in schools, enhances professionals’ understanding of children’s mental health and introduces approaches that foster positive wellbeing in schools and communities. They have versions for teachers, student teachers and youth workers.
Place2Be are pleased to be able to offer the course free to qualified teachers and school-based staff in the UK.
92% feel that the course has increased their capacity to lead a positive approach to mental health and wellbeing.
This is a 5 week online programme, 1–1.5 hours per week done at a time convenient for you, with regular start dates for you to choose from. December 2020 dates are:

Schools History Project New Teachers' Conference
The first Schools History Project New Teachers' Conference will take place online via MS Teams on Saturday 30th January 2021 and costs £35 per person
It provides inspiring and practical professional development for new teachers and trainee teachers
